DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS OF MESSE OFFENBACH GMBH
AS AT: 19/06/2015
These data protection regulations apply equally to both men and women. For the purposes of simplification, only the male form is used.
1. General information on data protection
The Internet portal of Messe Offenbach GmbH is primarily a marketplace for processing business transactions. Although a great deal of information is also available to anonymous visitors, we sometimes require either company-related or personal data from you in order to provide you with the desired services. Your data is protected in our systems in accordance with internationally applicable data protection standards, the data protection directive of the European Union and national data protection regulations. Our goal is for you to be certain that your data will be treated responsibly and confidentially. Encoding procedures are used for the secure transmission of payment data. This means that communication between your browser and our system cannot be read by other participants in the Internet. Personal data is used exclusively for the purposes explicitly stated in these data protection regulations or during later data collection. Our websites may contain links to websites of other providers. Since we are not responsible for their information, we recommend that you read the data protection information provided on such sites very carefully.
Every time content is requested from our Internet site, data about this process (e.g. name of the file requested, date/time, data volume transferred) is stored in a protocol file. This enables us to monitor user behaviour on the entire website. However, we never combine this information with data on individual users without prior written consent. Messe Offenbach GmbH classifies all usage statistics on the basis of the user's domain name, the browser type and the MIME type by picking out this information from the browser string (the information contained in the browser of every user). We trace and catalogue the search terms entered in the search engine by users, but never trace the information back to individual users. We also use so-called session cookies. These enable optimisation of communication times for incoming web inquiries. Fundamentally, our website can also be used without cookies, however this may result in restrictions with individual applications Cookies are not used to create individual user profiles If you have any further questions or comments concerning our data protection concept or wish to block your personal data for any particular form of use, please contact us by e-mail at the following address: email@example.com.
2. Data protection with special applications
2.1 Online orders
When you use our online ordering system, we receive from you the data required to process the order and perform the services agreed. Data fields for the collection of data required to process the business transaction are always marked separately (with an asterisk). If you provide additional, voluntary data, for example on particular specialist interests, we can send you targeted specialist information before an event. This means that you can decide which additional data you want to give us about you and your company. It is also possible to correct or alter the data collected during registration.
We offer the possibility of participating in interactive surveys with the aim of adapting the content and services even more precisely to our customer base.
2.3 Message boards / forums
Message boards and forums enable lively, non-chaired conversations on a variety of topics. We require users to register on a personal and company basis in order to prevent misuse of this platform.
2.4 Prize competitions
If we organise prize competitions, all rules and information on the specific procedure and the use of person-related data are clearly stated during the entire period of the competition. The information collected is also used to verify the user identity and to inform the winners. Here too, the policy of Messe Offenbach GmbH is not to forward information on specific persons to third parties.
2.5. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, text files which are stored on your computer and which enable us to analyse how you use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If you enable the anonymous mode on this website, Google will truncate your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. In exceptional cases only is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about website activities and in order to provide other services for the website operator in connection with the use of the website and Internet. The IP address sent from your browser in connection with Google Analytics will under no circumstances be bundled with other data by Google. You may set your browser software to prevent the storage of cookies; however, we advise you that in this case you will not be able to use all the functions of this website fully. You can also prohibit the transmission of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. 2.6. Google Remarketing
This website uses Google Remarketing. Google Remarketing is an advertising service delivered by Google Inc. (Google, Mountain View, USA), which enables us to provide you with targeted advertising to meet your supposed interests, based on your user behaviour during previous visits to our website. Such advertising is only presented in Google advertising space - either Google AdWords or the Google Display Network. Users are identified via a cookie in the web browser. The collection, storage and editing of collected data is subject to the information provided on Google Analytics details and the use of IP addresses. Google Remarketing does not combine any IP addresses or personal details with any further Google data, especially usage data. Remarketing cookies have a life of 18 months. You may oppose Google Remarketing or edit your settings on the Google Ads Settings page (https://www.google.com/settings/u/0/ads?hl=de). Alternatively, you can prevent Remarketing by disabling cookies in your browser settings. This website uses Google Analytics reports to identify demographic features based on interest-related Google advertising as well as visitor data supplied by third-party providers (e.g. age, gender and interests). This data cannot be traced back to any specific individual and can be disabled by you at any time via Ads Settings (https://www.google.de/settings/u/0/ads?hl=de).
2.7 Social Media Plugins
2.8 Messe Offenbach Social Sign-in

When registering with a social media profile, the information available about the user is automatically saved in the user administration of the website of Messe Offenbach and a new user profile is created. At the time of logging in with the social network ID, the API requests the personal data from the network and transfers this to the Messe Offenbach database.
